About the Role
We are seeking a junior to mid-level associate to join our growing IP/TMT practice.
The successful candidate will work on a broad range of intellectual property, technology, media, digital, data protection, and telecom matters for Thai and international clients. The role will include advisory, transactional, regulatory, prosecution, enforcement, and litigation work, depending on the candidate’s experience and interests.
This is an opportunity to take meaningful responsibility, work directly with experienced lawyers and clients, and develop a well-rounded practice in areas that are evolving rapidly in Thailand and internationally.
Key Responsibilities
The associate’s responsibilities will include:
Advising Thai and international clients on IP matters, particularly trademarks, copyright, patents, commercialisation, enforcement, and litigation.
Handling IP prosecution and portfolio matters, including searches, applications, office actions, oppositions, cancellations, appeals, renewals, assignments, licences, and recordals.
Advising technology, media, digital-platform, and telecommunications businesses on regulatory and commercial matters, including e-commerce, online content, advertising, consumer protection, cybersecurity, privacy, and data protection.
Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating IP- and TMT-related agreements, including licensing, software, platform, content, media, confidentiality, and data-related agreements.
Supporting IP/TMT litigation, enforcement, investigations, settlement negotiations, and other dispute resolution matters, including legal research, evidence review, pleadings, witness preparation, and case strategy.
Preparing legal opinions, memoranda, client correspondence, regulatory updates, and practical compliance advice.
Managing assigned matters and coordinating with clients, government authorities, foreign counsel, investigators, experts, and other advisers.
Contributing to the firm’s publications, presentations, knowledge development, and business-development activities.
Supporting other legal matters, practice areas, and firm initiatives as required.
The responsibilities may vary depending on the successful candidate’s experience, client needs, and the firm’s requirements.
Qualifications
We are looking for candidates who have:
Essential Qualifications
A Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from a recognised university.
One to five years of relevant legal experience, preferably in IP, TMT, and/or dispute resolution work.
Strong written and spoken Thai and English
Practical, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple matters and deadlines effectively.
Good communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
A strong sense of professional integrity, commercial awareness, and commitment to client service.
Preferred Qualifications
An LL.M. in intellectual property, technology law, or a related field would be an advantage but is not required.
Experience in IP prosecution, portfolio management, enforcement, litigation, technology or media transactions, data protection, or cross-border matters would be an advantage.
Experience appearing before Thai courts or dealing with the Department of Intellectual Property or other regulatory authorities would be an advantage.
A current Thai lawyer’s licence would be preferred but is not required.
