Lexpertise Law Firm Hosts Seminar on Contract Fundamentals and Construction Contracts (FIDIC Yellow Book)

On January 6, 2025, Lexpertise Law Firm had the pleasure of welcoming Sato Kogyo Bangkok engineering team and employees, including site managers - to our office for a legal knowledge-sharing seminar.  The event aimed to provide participants with foundational understanding of contract law, as well as an overview of construction contracts, particularly the FIDIC Yellow Book, which forms part of the FIDIC standard form contracts –internationally recognized, standardized agreements widely used in construction, engineering, and infrastructure projects.

The seminar was divided into two training sessions. The first session covered the fundamentals of contract law, which included case examples. The second session provided an overview of FIDIC contracts, with a special focus on the FIDIC Yellow Book, which is designed for construction and engineering projects where the contractor’s primary obligations include both the design and construction components of the works.

The sessions were highly interactive.  Participants were actively engaged and asked insightful questions that reflected both curiosity and a strong commitment to executing projects in accordance with international standards and best practices.

To wrap up the day, the seminar concluded with a short quiz for participants to help assess their understanding of the key topics discussed.
