Lexpertise Law Firm is pleased to be featured in the 8th Edition of The Legal Industry Reviews (LIR): Thailand. This publication showcases selected in-house counsel and leading law firms in Thailand, each representing an exclusive practice area and sharing insights on legal developments from both local and international perspectives.

We are honored to contribute to the 8th Edition as the exclusive firm for Intellectual Property, with our article titled “Provisional Refusal in Thailand: Trademark Strategies under WIPO’s Madrid System.” The article discusses the challenges of securing trademark protection in Thailand through WIPO’s Madrid System, noting that although nearly 10,000 designations for Thailand have been filed annually over the past five years, the Thai Department of Intellectual Property (DIP) has issued refusals for more than 80% of such applications. It further outlines the common grounds for refusal and provides practical strategies for brand owners to effectively respond and overcome these challenges.

The article was authored by Ploynapa Julagasigorn (Counsel) and Lalita Chawaroong (Associate) of Lexpertise Law Firm.
